Waterford
Waterford is a neighborhood of 339 homes in Leawood, Kansas, a suburb in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. Development by J. C. Nichols Company began in 1987 and was completed in 1995. We enjoy wide, tree-lined streets, fountains, gazebos, beautifully landscaped common areas and a fabulous pool area. Our location is within minutes of great shopping and dining options including Town Center Plaza, Park PlaceOne Nineteen and Hawthorne Plaza. Kansas City’s famous Country Club Plaza shopping district is about 12 miles north of our neighborhood.

The award-winning Blue Valley School District draws many people to our area. In addition, several private schools are also close by, including the Barstow SchoolOxford Park Academy, Nativity Parish School and the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy.

Along much of our south border is the beautiful Gezer Park, a gem of Leawood’s newest city parks system. A paved hiking/biking trail that is just south of our neighborhood ties into countywide trails that extend approximately 30 miles. Two miles south on Mission Road is Ironwoods Park, a 70-acre city-maintained facility that includes a lodge, a challenge course, cabins and a playground.

Our proximity to the state line gives residents easy access to Missouri businesses. We are also close to I-435 and US-69, making easy to get around the metropolitan area.

City of Leawood, Kansas
Leawood is one of the fastest growing cities in Kansas and has grown to 14.7 square miles in size, nestled among the cities of Overland Park and Prairie Village, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri.

Its population has more than doubled in 25 years to more than 30,000 residents and is expected to reach 40,000 within the next 10-15 years. To manage such growth, a master development plan is in place to ensure that Leawood maintains its inviting tree-lined neighborhoods and distinctive, well thought-out retail and commercial development.

Today, with picturesque parks and streets, highly rated schools and welcoming places of worship, Leawood is all that the founders envisioned. Through hard work and careful planning, Leawood has maintained its initial community vision while promoting and cultivating a competitive business market that residents and businesses alike appreciate. Those seeking a high quality of life can easily find it in the well-rounded community of Leawood.
